Thinking about 13 Latvias again
hobie spent the necessary amount of time within a tyrannical system to learn its inner workings, subtly instigating and stealing guarded tech, all while agitating its leader with his mere presence. and when the system finally showed signs of imploding because of an anomaly, he skipped out just in time. not so he could ditch what looked like a difficult, unwinnable conflict, but so he could regather his resources and use what he stole to help put together a team of rebels. ones who are fully willing and capable of attacking the system from the outside and defending/protecting miles from miguel.
and that's spider-man, not as a friendly neighborhood hero, but as a revolutionary.
i hate how there is a lot of writing you can find on the way that british masculinity interacts with class and the complicated dynamic between the two (that is v much country dependent like british masculinity is different from american masculinity) but ppl just kinda turn their brains off and make random shit up they think sounds right instead
its just kinda funny bc wow! british masculinity and class is actually deeply related in a way thats unique to other countries!

I'm going to reblog this a million times so be it
Reminded of that time the xkcd guy was trying to research what sports equipment would be most effective for destroying enemy drones in flight and he looked up a bunch of stats about pro tennis player accuracy against stationary targets like 40 feet away, and figured that a really high level tennis pro might be able to hit the drone in 5-7 shots if they had the time and even then probably wouldn’t do enough damage to disrupt it more than momentarily.
And then Serena volunteered to test this theory and just, killed it instantly.
i see people saying shit like “she’s the best woman player” nah fam she’s the best one out there
I know basically nothing about tennis but I know that she is a league of her own
